Self-Prevention from COVID-19 Advices
If you are sick..
If you have high fever, cough, runny nose and trouble breathing,
stay home and seek medical care attention whereby calling
in advance is recommended. This can help prevent spread
of virus and other infections and always wear a safe mask
and avoid touching it once it’s on.

When at eating places..
- Wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your eyes, nose
and mouth because your hands can pick up virus and transfer
it to your body.
- Maintain social-distancing at least 1 meter because people
spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth when
they cough or sneeze which may contain virus.
- Avoid sharing utensils use serving spoons and do not double
dip .

Cooler Homes
Summer is around the corner, the day seems longer, the sun is stronger,
the heat is hitting up and the humidity leaves you sweaty.
Here are some tips to get your home ready for the unbearable
heat and to cool your place down without sending your electricity
bill through the roof.
- Home Sunscreen
No, I’m not talking about
SPF, but filtering out the sunlight coming into your place
is the easiest approach to fighting the heat. Shade, blinds
and curtains are the simple elements for filtering out
the sunlight. Blackout shades are an even more effective
way of blocking out the glare, and they also naturally
insulate the room and keep your place cool. Double curtains
allow some natural light to filter in, but the area near
the window might still heat up. Putting a row of outdoor
plants, such as pine trees or ivy, along the wall on the
west side of your place which faces the afternoon sunlight
will also helping in reducing the heat conducted through
the walls.

- Create Ventilation
You can save a lot on your energy bills if you know how to control the air movement. Ceiling fans are the classic heroes for creating airflow - just turn it on to a medium speed and leave a window wide open, and you’ll get a nice breezy effect without adding much to your power bill. In addition, if you have a clerestory window, don’t forget to open it to let the hot air float away.

- Graceful Glazing
As most of the undesirable heat comes from windows, investing in double-glazing windows is the best option for controlling temperature and limiting the carbon footprint of your household. There are two types of glazing. Single, high-quality double-glazing windows can keep the heat at bay, provide a sleek and stylish look for your space, and soundproof your place to reduce noise from outside. The other option is secondary glazing, which is a more pocket-friendly option for those that don’t want to replace all the windows. Secondary glazing uses high-quality acrylics, fitted to the window sash, creating double layer with your existing windows. It is not soundproof, but it works efficiently in keeping the heat out.
